Dayton, OH

I visited Dayton for a quick business trip in 1994. I took my camera with me, but ended up not taking many photos because I didn’t have a car, and it was freezing outside (February). It was the first time I had experienced how cold a North American winter can be. Anyway, these photos are presented mainly for nostalgic value, as it depicted Mid West America in the 1990s before the death of retail.

Note

This article is part of our USA Film Retrospective series, featuring images captured mostly on film on budget cameras in the 1990s and early 2000s. The images have been scanned from film negatives (up to 30 years old) and then post processed to artificially increase sharpness. Please forgive us if they do not meet your expectations of photographic quality.

The last photograph depicted Chicago O’Hare airport as it would have looked in the 1990s captured by a compact camera hand held at long exposure.
