Leica SL2 Launch

Leica Australia graciously invited me to the SL2 launch at Pix on Location on 22 November. It was an interesting night, full of Leica dealers and customers with great food and I met many interesting people.

The Leica SL2 is the newest Leica modern mirrorless digital camera body based on the L-mount. Leica has a relationship with Panasonic for some time now and the SL2 shares a lot of features with the Panasonic S1R, but to my mind the SL2 is a better executed body and has better compatibility of M-mount lenses at the SL2 can recognise the 6-bit coding through the M adapter (the Panasonic can also use the same adapter but does not have any software to recognise and decode the lenses).

It was a good opportunity to catch up with my friends at Leica including Ryan Williams, Conor McGill and Nick Rains and I also met a few new friends along the way.
