Leica Artist Talk & Exhibition with Alan Schaller

Alan Schaller through his series ‘Metropolis’ examines the way in which we are dwarfed by the world around us, and how that can lead us to feel. Specialising in black and white photography, Alan’s work is often abstract and incorporates surrealism, geometry and high contrast features to draw viewers into the captured moment.

Alan Schaller is a London based photographer who specialises in black and white photography. His work is often abstract and incorporates surrealism, geometry, high contrast and the realities and diversities of human life.

Publications who have featured his work include The Guardian, The New York Times T Magazine, The Financial Times, Time Out and The Independent. Alan regularly has exhibitions, showing recently at the Saatchi Gallery, The Leica Gallery in London, Boston, Washington D.C. and The Edit Space in Milan.

Aland also co-founded the Street Photography International Collective (SPi). It was set up to promote the best work in the genre, and to give a platform to talented yet unrepresented photographers.

I like Alan’s talk and enjoyed the precision of his photographs, which was held at the Leica Store in Sydney on 17 May 2019. These photos are taken on my iPhone, so my apologies if they are not up to your standards.
