Australia's apex aerial predator still has to moult

Australia’s apex predator of the sky is the wedge tail eagle. This is Magra, an older wedge tail, who is normally entirely black, but she is moulting, so we see some of her lighter down showing, making her look a little scruffy. It’s only temporary, she’ll be clad in her normal sleek black plumage very soon. I could suggest she’s trying out the equivalent of torn jeans, but it’s not her choice.
