Showing that the Sony 135mm f1.8 GM can shoot sun stars. It has 11 aperture blades, so we get 22 points on our sun stars. Yes, the aperture blades are rounded, but when we close up the aperture a lot, we get distinct stars.
This is a bad example, because I misjudged the exposure, and the leaves have some horrible texture to them (f/22 doesn’t help). Nonetheless, the sun star is beautiful. I’ll try to do better.
This image shot with the Sony 135mm f/1.8 on a Sony A1, at ISO 12800 f/22 1/800. f/22 is a small aperture, and helps with the sun star effect, and yes, I imagine we’re seeing diffraction effects, but I really wanted to get a distinct star. I should have tried to avoid the high ISO, but this is my first sun star shot - I’m learning.
