A rock wallaby at rest
I bought a Sony 2x teleconverter recently, and headed off to Healesville Sanctuary to try it out.
A 2x teleconverter turns my 70-200mm f/2.8 lens into a 140-400mm f/5.6 lens, and costs a bit in image quality. It costs more than a little while you are learning how to use it! I was shooting with auto-ISO, and my ISO shot up to ISO 12800 on this shot, which was taken at 400mm, f/5.6, 1/1000 on the A1. The RAW image shows the effect of ISO 12800 in a grainy look, but I didn’t find it too offensive on the scattered bark background of the image. I might consider running this one through DxO’s DeepPrime to see the results, but I thought you might be interested in seeing the result.
What kind of music does this wallaby like? Well, this is a rock wallaby…
