Sydney EV Expo 2019 with the Voigtländer Nokton 40mm 1:1.2 and Sony α7R

This is the ninth of a series of articles showcasing pictures taken on the Voigtländer Nokton 40mm 1:1.2. These pictures were taken at the Sydney Electric Vehicle Expo at Sydney Olympic Park.

So, who knew that Australia has the Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA)? It was founded in 1973, and is a volunteer run, not-for-profit organisation aimed at getting more people into electric vehicles. They held an exhibition at Sydney Olympic Park to allow people to check out and test drive a variety of electric vehicles.

We were visiting Sydney Olympic Park on Sunday 27 October to see the Travel Expo (which turned out to be boring, but never mind) and met a guy on the train who just happened to be an electric car enthusiast and exhibitor, so he encouraged us to check the EV Expo.

There were new electric vehicles from established manufacturers like Nissan, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, and of course Tesla, on display in Hall 6 of the Sydney Showground.

In addition, there were enthusiasts (like our new found friend who we met in the train) showing off their own backyard conversions. The EV conversion process typically takes an existing older car that might be nearing the end of its life, and updates it to a thoroughly modern machine.

And then there were e-motorbikes and e-bikes on display as well.
