The newly completed George Place, owned by ISPT, is a large shared space uniting three buildings – 363 George Street, 345 George Street and the heritage-listed 24 York Street. George Place was designed by architects Fender Katsalidis in 2018, to upgrade the 1999 Denton Corker Marshall design and connect the three buildings.

The spacious ground floor lobby, containing communal meeting and working spaces, is framed on one side by the internal heritage facade wall of 24 York Street and on the other by new concrete cladding and LED strip lighting, creating a constantly changing interplay of light and shadows. A grand angular metal staircase leads to more public facilities and the HIVE space on level 2, where visitors can take in the space from alternative angles. The lobby areas present a range of regular exhibitions and artist talks. Directly outside the building, the new light rail completes this new precinct.

Alongside the lobby and HIVE spaces, ISPT will open their offices on level 6 of 24 York Street. Visitors will be able to access ISPT’s private Dialogue & Flex spaces.
