A black-breasted buzzard

Here is a species I haven’t photographed before. A black-breasted buzzard, native to Australia (mostly the drier areas). She has quite a distinctive plumage, with white panels near the tips of both wings, and what I am tempted to call orange highlights. It has been over a year since she had flown in front of an audience, and this was her first flight back – she seemed to be enjoying the attention.

This image was shot with the Sony 135mm GM lens on a Sony A1, at f/1.8 1/2000 ISO 1600 using bird eye autofocus (her eye is quite clearly in focus). The image was cropped to 5000 pixels wide, then scaled down to 2500 pixels wide for display here.
