Chatswood walk with the Voigtländer Nokton 40mm 1:1.2 and Sony α7R
This is the first of a series of articles showcasing pictures taken on the Voigtländer Nokton 40mm 1:1.2. These pictures were taken around the suburb of Chatswood in Sydney. Chatswood is a retail, transportation and commercial hub. In these photos, I have focused more on Chatswood as a leafy residential suburb.
First up, a set of close focusing photos of flowers and branch twigs intended to demonstrate what the bokeh of the lens is like at close to minimum focusing distance.
As you can see, whilst the Nokton isn’t a macro lens, you can get good results at the minimum focusing distance of 0.35m, or roughly 1 foot away from the subject. The bokeh is pleasing, and not too distracting or structured.
